Delta State Police Command has arrested over 230 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers and cultists. Ten victims rescued and N1.5million ransom recovered in Ughelli North Local Government.
Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, spoke during the Inspector General of Police (IGP) conference in Abuja: “The first quarter of 2025, it was a harvest of arrests. We will continue to make Delta State hot for criminals by our proactive and intelligence-driven policy.
“The Divisional Police Office, Ekpan personnel arrested four suspected kidnappers. They were intercepted during stop and search. They used wood gun to abduct a female victim in Agbarha and collected N4million ransom.
“Operatives of Police Dragon conducting stop and search along Kwala/Ozoro Expressway intercepted a gold colour Toyota Sienna bus loaded with passengers from Ughelli to Asaba. Four suspected kidnappers, who abducted a two-month-old baby was rescued.
“CP Special Assignment team acting on credible intelligence arrested three suspected kidnappers in Ekenwa, Ovia North East LG, Edo State. Operatives of Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit and Cyber Crime Unit arrested two suspected kidnappers when they stormed Koka Junction, Asaba. They confessed terrorising Ibusa/Ogwashi-Uku/Issele-Azagba environs.
“Operatives of Dragon arrested three suspects along Warri/Benin Road Oghara. A navy blue Sharon space bus was intercepted along Asaba/Benin Expressway. Two suspects from Kaduna State were arrested.
“Five suspected kidnappers were neutralised and two others arrested in Iyamugo. The CP Special Assignment team arrested two suspects at Olomoro in Isoko South LG. Four suspected kidnappers and armed robbers were arrested around Jeddo Axis of Okpe LG.”
