A group popularly known as Concerned Indigenes of Lagos have expressed their support for the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coaster Road being carried out by the Federal Government.
The group through its president, Dr Adewale Ogunlewe, disclosed they are in full support of the Lagos-Calabar Coaster Road, imploring the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, to ignore distractors.
It would be recalled that there have been criticism from some quarters in respect to the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coaster Road. But in swift response to the criticism, the group totally condemned the critics.
The group held that the allegation by the Okun Ajah agitators who visited the Federal Controller of Works for Lagos State and stated that the present alignment would be causing the demolition of 2,000 houses, was totally false and misleading.
Ogunlewe said the alignment as it presently stands, defines the project Coastal Road, as it passes by the coastal as it should be.
Concerned Indigenes of Lagos further warned the failed agitators who are allegedly sponsoring protests against the minister to desist from it
“As a progressive group, we
acknowledge and commend David Umahi’s numerous achievements since assuming office as the Minister of Works.
“As committed entity, we will encourage and support discussions that will always promote the nation’s development and stable economy,” the group held.
