The Delta Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe has urged parents to properly train their children to reduce criminality in society.

He made the call in an X post on Wednesday.

The Delta police spokesman said lack of proper home training predisposes children to crime in later life.

Edafe, who posted photos of different arms and ammunition, disclosed that they were recovered from criminal elements in two weeks in the state.

He said he often felt ashamed posting that some people’s children were responsible for such acts.

Edafe said, “One thing I have come to realise as a PPRO is that the police work day and night to ensure that we sleep with our two eyes closed.

“But what’s the problem exactly? When I was small even an outsider could discipline me, but these days it does not happen. These kids grow up and become a menace to society.

“Please train your children and reduce criminality today and in the future.

“Imagine these recoveries in two weeks only. At times I even feel ashamed posting all these weapons. These criminals, were they not trained or they were just destined for destruction?

“I would like us to have this conversation.”
