I don’t know how my works got on YouTube -Nelson Brown

•As his Dove Entertainment joins MCSN

Frontline music label, Dove Entertainments, has emerged the newest member of Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN).

Helmed by popular producer, Nelson Brown, the label formally teamed up with MCSN last week, bringing along its rich catalogue of musical works curated from 1994.

Welcoming Brown to MCSN, Board chairman, Orits Williki after introducing the Chief Executive Officer, Mayo Ayilaran, reeled out the core objective of the Society to be “protection of the copyright of its members.”

Williki assured the veteran producer of his protection and that of other members in whatever form legitimate, including litigation without them spending a dime on legal fees.

“Whatever you may have lost in terms of royalties, MCSN will get it back for you. In case of infringement, all MCSN requires of you is to file the complaints, and then leave the rest for the Society,” he said.

In his remarks, Brown said he was motivated to join MCSN because he discovered many of his produced works on the Internet, especially YouTube without knowing how they got there.

“I don’t know how the works got to the Internet. I wonder who gave them the permission for that,” he retorted.

Brown has produced several hit songs for music stars like Daddy Showkey, Daddy Fresh, Baba Fryo, African China, Tuface, Plantation Boys, and the late Sound Sultan.
