Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, has vowed that he will be the last man standing in APC.
Idris spoke in Birnin Kebbi while reacting to a viral online report that five Governors are pondering on defecting from APC to another enclave including himself.
Addressing hundreds of APC stakeholders, including his Deputy, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, former Governor of the state,Alhaji Saadu Nasamu Dakingari and the Speaker of the State Assembly, the Governor wondered how could he abandoned the house he built to unknown destination.
According to him, “I am happy that my people from all strata and at all levels have spoken against the unfounded and malicious report”,
“I have the belief and conviction that APC has done everything for me and I have no moral justification whatsoever to even think of leaving the party’,
“I will InSha Allahu, be the last man to remain standing in my great party, the APC.”
Idris made it clear that all such obnoxious write ups emanated from mischief makers .
He said: “They are people who are not happy with the myriad of developmental projects that our administration has brought to the people of Kebbi State’,
“Look at the calibre of people here. All the who and who of the state are here and they have spoken and condemned the report.
“We have not sat down anywhere and discuss or even dream of changing our party. We will never change our party. Both our administration and the Federal Government have done everything and our people are happy.”
Idris further admitted that the incumbent administration in the state was the best Kebbi State has ever had.
He said, “We are taking the people along and that is the apprehension of some people. My proximity to the President is also causing sleepless nights for some people
“I am hereby vowing to sustain such robust and mutual relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, FG and all its agencies. Kebbi State is for APC and it’s for Bola Ahmed Tinubu and myself.”
According to Dr Idris, InSha Allahu, come 2027, President Tinubu will receive massive votes from the people of Kebbi State.
He added, “By God’s grace, we will win all our elections come 2027. Kebbi State has no moral justification not to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He is a right thinking leader, doing a lot for our people.”
Earlier, the Kebbi State APC Chairman, Abubakar Muhammad Kana, reaffirmed the support of the party to the Governor, saying that the state will continue to flourish under the ruling APC administration of Governor Nasir Idris.
Kana explained that the gathering was to bare the facts and clear the misinformation.
“The APC in Kebbi and the entire population are satisfied about the excellent performance of Governor Nasir Idris at State level and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Federal level”,
“We are committed to working for their second tenure in office to continue with the good works already started”, Kana remarked.
Others who Spoke at the stakeholders meeting reaffirmed support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris under the APC for success in good governance leading to 2nd tenure in office.
They include the Speaker, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, member House of Representatives, Suru – Bagudo Constituency, Bello Dallatun Ka’oje, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Garba Umar Dutsinmari, the Chairman, Kebbi Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Faruq Aliyu Musa and the Special Adviser on Special Duties, Shafi’u Abubakar Zauro.
The rest were, the Chairman, ALGON, who is the Chairman, Birnin Kebbi Local Government, Muhammad Nayaya Ambursa, the Special Adviser on New Media, Aliyu Bandado and the Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Abdullahi Idris Zuru.
