When it comes to gospel music Blessings Ngozi Orji popularly known as Blessings Ng is not a pushover. In this interview, the gospel artist revealed how she chose music as career.

 

Was being a musician a childhood dream for you?

As kids growing up we have favorites and most loved but as we became adults, we begin to explore an inner passion and then it becomes a dream. yes singing was a childhood dream because I was opportune to be quickly aware that I had it in me, I got to know about my dream when I was very much younger.

What inspired you to make music?

First, passion inspired me and then the thought of lost souls that I could get reconnected back to their creator that is the Supreme God; this also inspired me and has kept inspiring me.

What challenges did you face on your way to stardom?

There is no man without a challenge, so, one of the challenges I faced, was desire and working so hard to make sure my music is heard and effectively understood.

How would you described your kind of music

Being a gospel artist, my kind of music is soul lifting; a spirited one, my type of music is to create a deep spiritual revolution that connects man’s body and soul to a Holy being.

How do you juggle being a producer and a singer?

The challenge of being a singer and producer wasn’t a day thing, it was a journey. But I became one before the other, the fact remains that I sing when have to sing and I record when I need to there’s time to sing and time to record.

Did stardom deprive you of anything?

I wouldn’t say stardom has deprive me of anything, I grew up becoming a disciplined lady it allow me to see life from a braver and wiser perspective, being deprived doesn’t make me lesser so, to me it might just be a problem that will be solved sooner or later.

Are you still friends with those you before stardom?

First, I am not a keeper of much friends but I will honestly say my friends are my friends and will talk whenever it is important that we need to. True friends are not just friends but sisters.

How do you handle advances from male fans?

The same way I would have handled advances from my man or crushers as a normal person but in this case I would be very careful in my approach.

You were away from music scene for a while, was this intentional?

Yes it was intentional because I had to look into a private matter in order to make sure that it doesn’t get out of hand, to ensure a good and fruitful life as a star.

What project are you currently working on?

Currently, I am working on something that has been part of my life for a long time. I have some records that will be out by next month and several others before the year comes to an end

What favorite song do you love performing?

I love to sing ”I am grateful” sang by me.

What is your advice to upcoming?

Put God first in everything and anything you’re doing, put passion in  whatever that concerns your elevation, place standards and be humble.
