The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has disclosed that he received healing from constant ill-health after attending a revival programme at The Apostolic Church, Nigeria, Maboju Assembly, Lagos.

Eno made the disclosure at a Homecoming and Thanksgiving service at the church on Sunday, according to a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh.

He recounted how, in 1975, he was relieved of constant ill health after his mother rushed him to a prayer meeting in the church.

“And so my mother attended that revival, and truly, by the grace of God, I got my healing in that revival. And so my mum started coming here with me.

“We stayed here. I went through school here, and so everyone around this neighbourhood will know us,” the governor said.

Meanwhile, the church said Eno served God in various capacities at the church before relocating to Akwa Ibom State in 1995.

The governor said that it was emotional being back thirty years after leaving the church.

He likened his visit to the biblical return of Jacob to Bethel, where he thanked God for visiting him.

Eno said, “The Spirit of the Lord laid heavily upon my heart to return to Bethel. To return to Bethel. When you read Genesis 35, it will be clear to you why we’re here. It is a significant spiritual exercise.

“When a child forgets the blessings of yesterday, he will foreclose and forfeit the blessings of tomorrow.”
