The city of Ibadan experienced the best of fashion at the 2022 edition of the South West Fashion Summit, which held last week.
The event held everyone spellbound with the creativity and ingenuity displayed throughout. From seminars to panel discussions and exhibition, the fashion summit was pieced together with detailed attention, making it a sheer artistic showcase.
The reviews, analyses and feedbacks from the summit have reinforced the belief that it’s one of a kind in the city of Ibadan. The event had the likes of Aramanda Clothing, On-point, Purple Aluko, Roy Ige and a host of other fashion and media personalities in attendance. It also had multiple designers showcasing their designs, including Haute Couture, which caught the attention of everyone.
With its collection, Haute Couture proved beyond reasonable doubt that it possessed the resources and creativity to rise to the top as one of Nigeria’s biggest fashion houses. The brand oozed exclusivity with its collection, indicating that the process of making quality-assured clothing was intentional.
Considering factors like design ideas, interpretation, complexity and delivery, Haute Couture outclassed other brands, even with extra details and wholesome delivery of its collection through the parade of beautiful models on the walkway. The fashion house also did justice to the showcase with its interpretation and use of fabrics, as well as colour combination that made every stitch stood out and delivered on the product development.
At the South West Fashion Summit, it’s exciting to see how Nigerian fabrics were blended with Western textiles to create a range of styles and designs for leisure wears. Each design in the Haute Couture’s AfroFusion Elegance collection paid homage to the bold personality and elegant appearance of the African male.
Okoroha MacDonald and Okoroha Chinenye, talented co-founders of Haute Couture, have set a standard that leaves room for healthy competition on the fashion scene. Though, other designers might think they have won some souls, there is no doubt that the Okoroha siblings attracted more patronage their brand. In fact, theirs was a display of fashion with lots of fervor and panache!
