Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick has named Super Eagles star, Ademola Lookman as an attractive and financially suitable option to strengthen the club’s wing position, Catalunya Radio reports.
The CAF Men’s Player of the Year scored 20 goals and provided seven assists for Italian side Atlanta this season, after scoring a hattrick to help the club lift the Europa League title in 2024.
Lookman has been linked to some of Europe’s top clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, although nothing concrete has emerged.
However, Flick has reportedly asked the Barca board to secure the 27-year-old forward’s services.
Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Lookman is set to leave Atalanta, especially after his mid-season fallout with former boss, Gian Piero Gasperini.
Lookman’s contract with Atalanta runs until 2026, putting Barcelona in a favourable position to negotiate a financially viable deal.
The Catalan side are also said to be interested in Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
