The Secretary, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) Plateau State Chapter, Kim Bot, has been kidnapped by gunmen.

Bot was allegedly abducted in Laminga area of Jos North local government area of the state.

Daily Sun learnt that the pharmacist was driving home at about 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday when the gunmen, who had mounted a road block in the Laminga area of the council, flagged him down.

It was further learnt that immediately after he stopped, the gunmen dragged him out of his car at gunpoint and forced him into theirs and consequently took him to an unknown destination.

A member of the association who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak, confirmed the incident.

He said that the kidnappers were yet to get in touch with with the association or family of the victim.

Residents of the area have recently cried that the road leading to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) has turned into a den of kidnappers and armed robbers.

A resident of the area, Ibrahim Dalyop, who also confirmed the incident, said that the victim has a shop within the vicinity.

According to him, Bot has a pharmaceutical shop in the area and was kidnapped while going home after closing his shop.

He said, “The rate of kidnapping in this area is alarming; there is no week without a report of kidnapping or robbery. We are appealing to the government and security agencies to come to our aid.

Spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command DSP Alfred Alabo confirmed the incident, saying that the command has commenced investigation into the incident with a view of arresting those behind the abduction.
