Gunmen have reportedly abducted a member of Delta State Advisory Committee, Paul Enebeli and his personal assistant identified as Dickson Okonta.
They were said to have been abducted on Saturday on Benin bypass in Edo State.
Enebeli was said to be on his way to the University of Benin as guest speaker to deliver a paper entitled: “Alumni Networking: Harnessing Its Potentials,” at the inauguration of patrons and executive members of the Faculty of Pharmacy Alumni Association when he was abducted.
A couple whose vehicle summersaulted while trying to avoid the gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, were also reportedly abducted.
It was learnt that Enebele’s driver escaped the attack and later reported the matter to the police located not far from the scene of the incident.
Spokesman of the Edo State Police Command, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, could not be reached for comment, but a reliable source at the command confirmed the incident,
At the time of this report, the driver and the recovered vehicle of Enebeli, were said to be with the police.
