From Desmond Mgboh, Kano

New Nigeria People Party (NNPP), yesterday, responded to the allegation by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that it has no deal with President Bola Tinubu with regards to the governorship election before the Supreme Court.

NNPP Chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, responding to allegation by the APC that they had a deal with Tinubu, told newsmen that the accusation by the APC chairman was untrue, reckless and unfounded, adding that it was a depiction of the current state of desperation on the part of their arch-rival.

He reiterated that the mandate of the people of the state currently being held in trust by the NNPP was sacrosanct, while expressing optimism that they would get a positive outcome at the Supreme Court.

He acknowledged, however, that the common ground between President Tinubu and their national leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was their shared interest in the emancipation of the ordinary people, adding that it was what attracted Tinubu to Kwankwaso way back in 2015, a relationship which culminated in a resounding victory for the then APC in the 2015 elections

“We are aware of the move by Ganduje and his cohorts ahead of the Supreme Court judgment, but they have forgotten that power belongs to God, and whether they like it or not, if He says Abba would continue to be the Governor of Kano State, there is nothing they can do” the chairman said.
