The Anambra State Patriots for Good Governance has called on Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu to contest the forthcoming gubernatorial elections, aiming to transform Anambra State into a model of progress and development.
During a recent brainstorming session with political stakeholders, the group unanimously identified Ukachukwu as a selfless leader capable of addressing the state’s pressing challenges.
Chief Emma Aniagor, the group’s convener, described Ukachukwu as “a tested political phenom,” whose socio-economic contributions and philanthropic efforts have resonated across Anambra State and beyond. “Prince Ukachukwu has the vision, resources, and leadership acumen to lead Anambra into a new era of development,” Aniagor noted.
Ukachukwu, a prominent estate developer with over 30 years of experience, has provided affordable housing to Nigerians in cities, such as Abuja, Onitsha, and Awka. His commitment to community development and youth empowerment through employment initiatives has earned him recognition as a leader with a human touch. The group emphasised that under Ukachukwu’s leadership, Anambra could experience a structural and economic transformation comparable to other rapidly developing states, like Delta.
It also highlighted Ukachukwu’s potential to address insecurity through job creation. “When youths are employed, restiveness, violence, and crime will decline,” Aniagor said. Ukachukwu’s plan includes establishing factories and new markets in rural areas, offering soft loans to young entrepreneurs, and revitalising local economies to tackle unemployment head-on.
Expressing concern over the slow infrastructural growth of Anambra’s capital, Awka, compared to neighbouring cities like Asaba, the group believes Ukachukwu has the expertise and determination to elevate Anambra’s status. They cited his track record in creating modern housing estates and boosting urban development as evidence of his capability.
The Patriots concluded with a passionate plea, urging Ukachukwu to heed the call of the masses. “Anambra needs a unifying and visionary leader like Prince Ukachukwu to guide it toward unity, progress, and prosperity,” said the group’s secretary.
As the 2025 elections approach, the Patriots hope their appeal would inspire Ukachukwu to step forward and lead the state into a brighter future.
