The State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Chief Benjamin Omale, has once again clarified that Governor Hyacinth Alia has no intention whatsoever to leave the party.
Reacting to recent media reports suggesting the Governor is considering exiting the APC, Chief Omale described the story as false and the handiwork of political detractors bent on distracting the Governor from the transformational work he is delivering to the people of Benue State.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Makurdi on Sunday, Chief Omale said “As the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue, I wish to categorically state that His Excellency, Governor Hyacinth Alia, has no plans whatsoever to leave the party. Any suggestion or insinuation to the contrary is nothing but a fabrication by enemies of progress trying to sow confusion and derail the focus of this administration.”
Chief Omale emphasized that Governor Alia is not only a loyal and committed member of the APC but also one of the party’s most dependable pillars in Benue and the North Central region. He said since taking office, the Governor has expanded the influence of the APC across the state through purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, and the execution of massive infrastructural projects.
“Under his leadership, Benue State has witnessed an unprecedented wave of development; road construction, school renovations, healthcare upgrades, and rural transformation. These achievements have attracted new members to the APC across political divides and have made the party a preferred choice for many in the state,” he noted.
The APC Chairman further highlighted the Governor’s active participation in key national party activities, including political engagements in Katsina, Delta, Borno, Ondo, and Kaduna States, and crucial stakeholders’ meetings involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He also noted Governor Alia’s visible presence during the APC North Central Zonal Endorsement and at the Presidential Banquet during the APC National Summit.
“It is therefore laughable for anyone to insinuate that a Governor who has done so much for the party and continues to build the APC stronger through his actions and contributions would contemplate leaving it. This fake narrative is merely a distraction and it will fail,” Omale added.
He reaffirmed the party’s confidence in Governor Alia’s leadership, describing him as a focused and principled leader, fully committed to the ideals of the APC.
“As the leader of the APC in Benue State, I strongly disown and distance the party from this fake report. We stand firmly with Governor Alia. He remains our Governor, our party leader, and a shining example of good governance under the APC banner,” Omale said.
He urged party members and the general public to disregard the baseless claims and continue to support the Governor and his administration in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Benue.
