How long have you been into music?
I have been a chorister since primary school and have served in several churches as a singer including Church of God Mission, Firm Foundation Church, Christ-Chosen Church, Anigboro, Benin, Our Daily Manna Worldwide, Ogudu, Lagos, Faith Assemblies of God Newark, New Jersey, and finally the choir mistress of CPM Miracle Center, Lanham, Maryland, United States.

Why gospel?
Gospel is the only music genre I know. I won’t tell you I don’t listen to other songs, but I can’t comprehend it the way I do gospel. Gospel songs have a way of setting me in the right mood. Everywhere I go gospel songs are what I am known for.

You are about to drop a new song; can you tell us more about it?
The song dropped on the 31st of January and it is titled, This Year. It was birthed from the womb of Koinonia, right there on my Worship Room. I was singing other songs and asking God what message He had for His children this year, and the song came as a confirmation of what He wanted me to sing. There was no struggle; it’s the easiest song I have ever done. I mean the process was easy and smooth compared to other songs.

What’s the inspiration behind the new track?

The song is an expression of my gratitude to God for His wondrous works and an affirmation of my faith in Christ. It’s a danceable song; it expresses the assurance of God over me. That it is my time to accelerate in His blessing as originally planned from creation. I am only taking possession of my inheritance in Christ, as I dance and sing. This song is not limited to 2024 alone. It is an assurance. A declaration that only good things are permitted in our lives, henceforth we attract God’s favour and experience heaven effortlessly.

Do you have any album? If yes, what is the title and how many tracks are in it?
I have songs but not an album. The titles are I Will Not Fear, My Everything, Ebube Dike, Your Mercy, and the latest single, This Year.

What are some of the challenges you encounter as a Nigerian gospel artiste in the Diaspora?
The distance between my producer and me was a great challenge. The time difference between both of us was just not good for me.

Most times, people expect gospel artistes to dress in some kind of way; no trousers, no makeup, no jewellery, what’s your take on that?
Salvation is personal, and your personal relationship with Christ is what really matters. Nobody meets Jesus and remains the same. Dress the way you want to be addressed.
