…Disbands structures and contact committees

The Gombe State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned prospective aspirants in the state to wait until 2027 before declaring their intentions to run for political offices.

The party condemned the activities and actions of the prospective aspirants, especially the gubernatorial aspirants, urging them to stop distracting the state governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya from delivering his campaign promises to the people.

The APC also disbanded all political structures and contact committees established by the prospective candidates, urging it’s loyal members to refrain from participating in the unlawful campaign activities until all restrictions on political campaigns are lifted.

This was disclosed in a communique that issued after an expanded State Executive committee meeting that was held by the party on Saturday in Gombe. In the communique that was released by the Publicity Secretary of the APC in Gombe, Mr Moses Kyari, the party assured that as a party governed by the law, it would not hesitate to sanction any member who violates the party’s constitution.

According to the party, other issues discussed at the meeting include other political developments relating to the ruling party in the state. “the meeting unanimously resolved and commend His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya (CON) for his dynamic and energetic leadership especially in these challenging times. The governor’s dedication to serving his people and delivering on his campaign promises despite pressing economic challenges is a testament to his commitment to their well-being”.

The Party also congratulated its members on the successful nomination of candidates for the upcoming local government council elections. Saying, “We encourage all candidates, party members, and the general public to remain law-abiding and committed to ensuring seamless, peaceful, and rancour-free elections”.

According to the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC), the next chairmanship and councillorship elections elections will be held on 27 April 2024, in the 11 local government areas and 114 wards of the state.
