In the run up to the grand finale of the online social media contest #GLOIN60SECONDS, the last batch of weekly winners of weeks 6,7 and 8 editions of the competition last Wednesday received their cash prizes at Gloworld shops in various locations in Nigeria.
The 21 winners representing the seven winners picked weekly across the final three weeks, smiled home with fifty thousand naira each. With these presentations, all is now set for the grand finale, where the star prize of N1 million and five N200,000 consolation prizes will be presented to the lucky winners in March.
In Abuja for instance, five winners, Jonah Ochoma, Ejembi Simon, Lewechi Chidiebere Timothy, Rowland Olabode and Eze Paul Ike got their cash prizes of N50,000 each at the Gloworld shops. Two schoolmates, Iyaomiye Israel Bayo and Oladokun Feyisayo Theophilus, joined Edechime Nnamdi Cyril and Akhilele Ehimare Ose to receive their prizes in Lagos.
In Enugu, Omeya Chinemerem Gifty, Ajogwu Queen Ogechi and Okpala Chioma went home with their cash prizes, while in Ibadan, Omoloye Oluwasegun Emmanuel, Egbuaba Favour Chibuikem and Adigun Temiloluwa Daniel were also presented with their prizes.
Chikezie Tochukwu, in Kano, Gabez Lynda from Warri, Delta State, Chuke Chimuanya Progress, Benin, and Offong Imaobong Bassey, Port Harcourt, also got their prizes.
The two classmates of Aladura Comprehensive High School, Anthony, Lagos, Iyaomiye Israel Bayo and Oladokun Feyisayo Theophilus, who were presented with cheques of N50,000 each at the Allen Avenue Gloworld Shop disclosed that they assisted each other in recording the videos before uploading. They expressed delight that their videos won the competition. While Iyaomiye uploaded a dance video, Oladokun tested his hands on the drum set and won one of the weekly prizes. The duo said they would use part of their prizes to pay for their examinations and buy a few clothes.
