As former President Muhammadu Buhari clocked 81 today, December 17, one of his successors as General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Armoured Division, Nigeria Army, Retired Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju, joins other Nigerians to celebrate Buhari, whose leadership, both as military and democratically elected head of state was noticed for good worldwide.

 

Also a former Minister of Communications and Member of the Provisional Ruling Council (PRC), General Olanrewaju, while congratulating the former President, whom he fondly calls “My Commander-in-Chief,” found the occasion of the octogenarian’s 81st birthday anniversary as a long awaited opportunity to say “thank you” to him for granting him presidential pardon, and restoring his dignity as a fully fledged retired army Major General.

“I congratulate my Commander-in-Chief, General Buhari, who left the seat of power sane and happy in a nation with many challenges. He removed the stains in my public records and restored my dignity with the presidential pardon at this twilight of my life.

 

“I want to wish him well and pray to Almighty Allah to give him longevity and keep him well. Thank you, General Muhammadu Buhari. Happy birthday, General,” he saluted Buhari in his birthday goodwill message for him.
