The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Navy, Yusuf Gagdi, has restated his commitment to giving purposeful representation to his constituency.
Gagdi, who represents Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency of Plateau State, stated while reacting to the honorary doctorate degree conferred on him by the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, in Ekiti State.
The lawmaker said he was dedicating the award to his constituents for entrusting him with the mandate, through which he exhibited leadership qualities that attracted recognition for his role in nation building.
He promised to continue to provide succour to his constituents and speak without fear or favour in the pursuit of an egalitarian society for all Nigerians. Gagdi appreciated his family for being the backbone of the robust leadership that characterised his representation of the people of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency.
Gagdi, according to a statement by his media team, was among three distinguished Nigerians conferred with the Honoris Causa at the 8th Convocation Ceremony the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, in Ekiti State, at the weekend.
The award, the statement noted was conferred on the lawmaker by the Chancellor of the University, His Royal Majesty, the Attah Igala, Dr Mathew Alhaji Opaluwa. It quoted the Chancellor as saying that the recognition followed a meticulous scrutiny of Gagdi’s activities, both in lawmaking and the impacts he has created in the lives of their people through projects delivery and empowerment.
