Dr. Tiana’s Foundation has offered free medical service to over 250 residents of Powerline Avenue, Magboro, community, Ogun State.

The group arranged the medical outreach event to help people to know their health status, gets free medication and consultation without stress.

It said the outreach “was instituted to improve the well-being of indigent Nigerians across the country.

“This is not about money, we believe that money should not be a barrier and access to quality health care is what every Nigerian must enjoy regardless of their status.”

In addition to the foundation’s series of outreach services and plan to be involved with other charity works. They expressed commitment to continually ensure that the masses and indigent Nigerians have access to health care services at no cost.

The foundation aimed at creating awareness against non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and also making healthcare services available and accessible to the people.

The range of services included free medical consultations, blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, BMI assessments, eye examinations, and the dispensing of eyeglasses.

Noting that more than 50 per cent of the attendees were hypertensive, with some not adhering to prescribed medications by their physicians and others newly diagnosed, the foundation provided free medications and counseling to encourage compliance.

According to the foundation, it aim is to extend support by providing continuous medication for hypertensive individuals throughout the year, highlighting the need for ongoing assistance.

Urging residents to take their health seriously and always go for medical checks, particularly to check blood pressure (BP), it said: “The success of the outreach was made possible through the generous support of partners, including the Stop Hurting People Foundation, Grace Eye Clinic, and Benefit International.”

Expressing gratitude to the community, the foundation emphasised the importance of ongoing support from the community and encouraged everyone to contribute to their mission of making a positive impact on health and well-being.
