Food Quest, an introduction of African foods that are on the verge of extinction to Nigerian youths, has made its debut on Foodbay TV.

Speaking at the event held at Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos and mostly attended by the youths, Oluwafemi Ogundoro, co-founder of Foodbay TV, said the show through local foods aimed to revitalize authentic African culture in the younger generation.

“We want to preserve African culture by giving the younger generation an increased opportunity to experiment with various local foods and share their reviews. Foodbay TV is filled with lots of Gen Z, and many of them don’t know the basic things we take for granted. If you’re a millennial or baby boomer, you realise there are certain things we take for granted that everyone should know. But the Gen Zs don’t know those things as simple as cashew fruits, abacha salad, dambonama, kilishi or Ikokore because they were born in Lagos or Ibadan, and they’ve not had the opportunity to travel around the states,” he explained.
