Flour Mills of Nigeria, a food processing company has  commissioned  a solar-powered clean water plant it financed for the Gbaji-Yeke Community in Badagry.

 This significant milestone was achieved in partnership with the Lagos State Government under the esteemed One Community at A Time project (OCAAT), which aims to address the specific needs of grassroots communities and provide sustainable solutions.

The solar-powered clean water plant is a testament to FMN’s unwavering commitment to driving sustainable growth across Nigeria.

The project not only addresses a fundamental need for clean and accessible water but also aligns seamlessly with the company’s organizational sustainability outlook and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6, which seeks to ensure access to safe water sources and sanitation for all. By leveraging renewable energy sources, Flour Mills of Nigeria showcases its dedication to environmental stewardship and contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.

Group HR & Services Director FMN, Wale Adediran, expressed enthusiasm for the project and its transformative impact on the Gbaji-Yeke Community.

 “We are proud to partner with the Lagos State Government through the One Community At A Time project to deliver this solar-powered clean water plant,” he said in his address. He further stated: “This initiative exemplifies our commitment to community development, sustainable practices, and positively impacting the lives of Nigerians.
