…. Governor’s wife donates relief materials to victims

As the harmattan season fully commences, residents of Kebbi state have been advised to take precautionary measures against the effects of the harmattan, cold-related diseases and bush burning, in order to avoid fire outbreaks in both rural and urban areas of the state .
Wife of the Kebbi state governor Hajia Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris gave the advice when sympathizing with the victims affected by fire inferno at Aleiro housing Quarters in Birnin Kebbi.
She said: “With the incessant outbreak of fire in this season, it has become crucial to alert all residents of the need to be more careful and avert keeping gas or any explosive closer to any object that could cause problems,”.
While praying against future recurrence, the wife of the governor equally appealed to the public to adhere to basic fire safety measures to help reduce the occurrence of fire outbreaks during the harmattan season.
Hajiya Zainab Nasare was represented by her delegation lead by the wife of the Secretary to the State Government hajia Asma’u Alkali Yakubu, and the Special Adviser to the governor on women affair hajia Fati Udu.
They both stressed the need for residents to be alerted and be sensitized about improper use of domestic gas, bush burning, leaving electrical appliances connected to the socket even after use, and the use of charcoal pots, in other to prevent any action that could lead to destruction of property, lives and the environment.
Highlight of the visit were presentation of relief materials such as: food items, clothing materials and Cash to the affected victims.
While thanking the wife of the governor for her kind support on behalf of the victims,
Hon. Muhammad Ladah (shattiman Gwadangwaje) equally appeal to the state government to station a fire Fighting van and a source of water supply to the area.
