Kano State Government has  expressed deep sorrow over the devastating fire incident that wreaked the residence of the late Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu at Goron Dutse.

Government indicated that the  fire outbreak claimed many lives and left several others hospitalised

Governor  Abba Kabir Yusuf  in a statement by Commissioner of Information, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu, the immediate families of the deceased, and all those affected by the tragedy.

“The victims, who were working at the residence of the late Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu, were dedicated individuals whose tragic loss is deeply felt” the statement disclosed.

The Governor described the incident as a painful loss, not only for the bereaved families but for the entire state.

He played for the peaceful repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and prays to Allah to grant their families the strength and comfort to bear this difficult time. He also wishes the injured a swift and full recovery.

Yusuf urged the people of Kano to remain vigilant and adhere to safety precautions to avert similar incidents.

He also called on relevant agencies to enhance awareness and response mechanisms to safeguard the lives and property

A statement issued earlier by the Kano State Police Command linked the fire incident to explosion.

The  tragic fire incident, which occurred on Monday, killed 14 year old Ibrahim Sani and injured 21 others at the residence.

Daily Sun gathered that the inferno which caused damages in the late billionaire’s large complex was caused by a gas cylinder explosion in the kitchen area of the compound.

A statement by the Kano State Police Command and signed by its Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the fire tragedy.

The statement said that a police team, led by Area Commander, Dala Area Command, ACP Nuhu Mohammed Digi, promptly responded to the fire incident.

“The victims with serious burn injuries were rushed to Gamji Hospital, Dala Orthopaedic Hospital, and Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where they are currently receiving treatment” said the statement. .

“The fire was successfully extinguished through the combined efforts of firefighters and policemen. The area is now generally calm” the statement added.

The Commissioner of Police appreciated the swift response of the Police Team, Fire Service and the cooperation of the public in preventing the spread of the fire,the statement held.

Daily Sun reports that the Late Isyaku Rabiu, a multi- billionaire business man in his life time, was father to Abdusamad Isyaku Rabiu, the Chairman of BUA business group.
