The Federal Government (FG) has launched a partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to support 500,000 farmers before the 2025 wet season. This aims to boost agricultural production and food security nationwide.

Valued at N12 billion, the initiative falls under JICA’s Food Security Emergency Support funding. It focuses on enhancing productivity through timely input delivery, improved post-harvest handling, and better market access for farmers.

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, met with Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, and Bank of Agriculture Managing Director, Mr Ayo Sotinrin, in Abuja. They discussed deploying this support package effectively.
