From Ogbonnaya Ndukwe, Aba
A man in Aba, Abia State allegedly killed his wife and baby over what was described as continued hardship, which rendered him unable to provide the feeding needs of his family.
The deceased, simply identified as Udokwukwu, a shoe maker from Onicha Ngwa, in Obingwa Council Area of the state but resident in Osisioma with his family, was said to be unhappy with a reported infidelity by his wife who had gone to his shop to collect feeding mone, which he couldn’t provide.
Witness accounts said he got angry by the wife’s approach, later returned home with a can of fuel that he poured in the apartment while the family was already asleep and set it ablaze, killing his wife identified as Mary and their little baby.
He was later found dead the following day by family members, who suspected that he might have been killed in a reprisal attack by yet to be identified aggrieved persons for killing his family members.
Though the dead bodies have been deposited in a local mortuary by the police in the area, the state command was yet to comment on the killings as of the time of filing this report.
