The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, Ajao Adewale, has directed all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to launch extensive raids on known criminal flashpoints and hotspots across the territory.
Police Public Relations Officer Josephine Adeh said this strategic move aims to root out criminals and keep residents safe. “This operation, driven by intelligence, will include stop-and-search efforts and targeted patrols to tackle robbery, kidnapping, drug peddling, and other violent crimes,” she explained. The Command is taking proactive steps to stay ahead of threats and boost public trust in the police.
Adeh urged FCT residents to obey the law, stay alert, and cooperate with officers during these duties.
“Members of the public are advised to be courteous and respectful during interactions with law enforcement officers, as these operations are designed solely to enhance their safety and security,” she said in a statement.
She also called on parents and guardians to monitor their children closely. “Proper guidance and supervision are essential to prevent youths and children from being lured into criminal activities or harmful associations,” she noted.
The Command seeks support from community leaders, religious figures, and local stakeholders. “Collective responsibility and public cooperation are key to a safer society,” Adeh added. She encouraged reporting suspicious activities via police emergency lines: 08032003913, 08028940883, 07057337653, or the Complaint Response Unit at 08107314192.
“The FCT Police Command remains committed to protecting lives and property,” she said. “We will keep using effective strategies to outsmart criminals in the territory.”
