The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has applauded the recent donation of essential medical equipment aimed at improving the health and well-being of its officers.
This initiative, facilitated by Sharegiving Sun Health Care Limited is aimed at addressing common health concerns often encountered by those in law enforcement.
The donated equipment includes essential devices for monitoring blood pressure and blood sugar levels, as well as dental care tools, which are vital for preventing health issues that could potentially escalate into life-threatening conditions for the officers.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony in Abuja on Monday, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the contribution.
He emphasiy the critical role that such donations play in ensuring that officers remain fit for their demanding duties.
“I feel elated that they have seen us worthy of having this equipment. My doctor has told me that with this, we don’t need to leave our hospital just to check our teeth. The duty we do as police officers is to save lives. We are on duty 24 hours every day and are prone to a lot of illnesses and diseases,” stated Commissioner Disu.
The CEO of Sharegiving Sun Health Care Limited, Kingsley Oha, explained that the initiative was born out of a recognition of the pressing healthcare needs faced by police officers and other security personnel.
Oha urged well-meaning Nigerians to lend their support to the police force, stating that they play a critical role in maintaining national security.
“We are motivated and moved by the needs of the Nigeria police and other security agencies in Nigeria. One of the machines can be used to treat tooth problems. We are in support of Nigeria police in terms of health issues. We are also supporting Nigeria police and other security agencies with basic health equipment. We discovered that a lot of our servicemen are having a lot of prostate issues,” Oha remarked.
