The Fancy and Furniture Development Association (FFDA), Alaba International Market on Monday held it’s election for officers that will pilot its affairs in the next four years.
Uchechukwu Chukwuma defeated Chief Stephen udobuzor ( umunnanwezuo aku ) to emerge the new chairman.
Chukwuma, who spoke shortly after he was sworn in said as part of his campaign promises, he will ensure that all traders get the best treatment by creating an enabling environment for all to work together for the good of everyone.
“I will also seek solution to the issue of demolition where a lot has been lost in recent months. The menace of flooding in the market is something that we must take serious. This has become a yearly problem and we continue to lose billions. We must start by ensuring that all our drainages are kept clean at all times. Together we will make our market environment clean, safer for both sellers and buyers. Security is key to this administration and we will continue to ensure that our goods are safe. I stretch my hands out to work with the other contestants. We can only make progress if we are united. And we are united, the sky is just the beginning,” he said
He thanked the electorates for the confidence bestowed upon him and assured that no one will be left behind.
