The Esiwuade family of Odogbolu, Ogun State, has allayed the fears of residents of the Ogun community saying that there was no unrest in the town as reported in some media.
The family described the reports of unrest in Odogbolu as false publications and un-investigated claim.
The Esiwuade family stated that the reports were not only aimed at causing panic among the people of the town but to discredit and tarnish the image of the family
That family stated that they are the customary and legal owner of the vast expanse of land spanning across Oko-Igbepa, Likojo, Aganmoyan, and Imepowu, under the Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
They also claim to posses the necessary legal documents and title over the land which had long been confirmed by various Judgments of courts which had all been registered in the National Archive of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
The head of the family, Musariu Adetola Durojaiye, called on the Ogun State Commissioner of Police ,Abiodun Alamutu, to institute a proper and discreet investigation into the malicious reports against his family
“ We call on the general public to disregards any news or publication stating that we the Esiwuade family brought thugs or landgrabbers to our community as same is not true “ he added .
Musariu described his family as a law abiding family ,which believes in the instrumentality of the law and all our activities are guided by the law of our country .
He also stated that his family had written petitions on the matter to the Government of Ogun State, Ogun State House of Assembly, the office of the Attorney General of Ogun State, and the office of the Ogun State Commissioner of Police
“ The sponsors of this illegal, false and scandalous publication had severally been told to provide documents and evidence to contradicts the title of the Esiwuade family and they have failed to do but choose to mislead the public by writing frivolous publication and instigating the public against our client through the media with unfounded allegations.
“They have also failed to wait for the outcome of the proposed meeting with the Ogun State House of Aseembly and the Commissioner of Police , Ogun State but choose to use the media so as to score cheap points and defame the Esiwuade Family.
