The Eze Igbo Mekong (King of Six nations) and global peace Ambassador, HRH Uzochukwu Jerome Ezeneche has cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on plan to lead military intervention into Neighbouring Niger Republic to remove coup ploters who recently seized power from President of that country.
In a statement signed from his Palace in Bangkok, Thailand, and made available to the media, HRH Ezeneche, Ezenwatagwuosimiri, said, here in Nigeria, the legitimacy of President Tinubu emergence as president after the General election is still being contested in the tribunal and as such Nigeria lacks the moral right to lead such military attack.
“Again, majority of the people in Niger are in support of the coup as they celebrated the removal of president .Mohamed Bazoumo leading attacks against that country could backfire and lead destabilisation of the region. You know that our country, Nigeria and Niger share a common border and have somany cultural affinity. Any war in that zone would increase insecurity in West Africa subregion.”
HRH Ezeneche concludes by calling on West African leaders to be transparent by practising true democracy as this is the only solution to coup. ” It is also time for them to come together and fight the common enemies, the imperialist who are exploiting Africans by taking our mineral resources away at giveaway price. I also want them to learn from what happened in Mekong, Asia. When Coup happened in Myanmar, the Mekong regional power comprising 6 nations did not attack the country, but rather, they even gave them aid and releif. Nigeria should learn from Thailand, the immediate neighbour of Myanmar, who never led military attack but rather gave the country needed aid to take care of the civillians. Nigeria should avoid unnecessary war, he advised.”
