The Interparty Advisory Council (IPAC) has urged the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf to extend his appointments to chieftains of other political parties, saying that doing so would ensure an inclusive government and a robust democracy.
IPAC National Chairman, Sani Yabagi, who stressed this fact, on Saturday spoke at a conference marking the end of a peer review exercise initiated by the Council to assess the performance of the government in the state.
Represented by the National Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu, he observed that the projects being executed in the state were in line with the promises made by the government during the campaigns.
He lauded the state government for embarking on several gigantic projects in parts of the state within a space of six months, and without borrowing funds from anywhere for their execution.
IPAC also appraised the security situation in the state, describing it as very impressive, while appreciating civil servants in the state for their commitments to driving the socio-economic development of the state to a higher level.
“We have a lot of things to point out which the government has done well. This is a government that has been following their policies, and we commend them for that,” he added.
According to him, the situation in Kano in terms of dispensation of democratic dividends is very encouraging, promising to make the comprehensive report of their findings available to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Assembly for appraisal and commendation.
