Kebbi State Governor Dr Nasir Idris has donated the sum of N5million and three big bulls to augment feeding of 1,819 Corps members deployed to Permanently orientation camp, Dakingari, Suru Local Government Area of the state.

The Corps members comprises of 1,572 of Kebbi State while 247 Zamfara State Corps Members of 2023 Batch “C” Stream 1 Orientation Course were sworn in by the governor.

While addressing the Corps members,Idris,who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Alhaji Yakubu Bala congratulate them for their successful academic pursuit.

According to him, “I wish to congratulate you for successfully scaling through the rigours of your academic pursuit and being found worthy in learning and character which qualified you to be mobilised for National Service.

“Your call-up for National Service should be a remarkable turning point in the history of your life. You should view it as an opportunity to achieve a major breakthrough by way of contributing your quota to the development of your country. This clarion call which you have answered today should transform you into being better citizens and good ambassadors of this nation. NYSC has over the years been able to prepare youth to become successful leaders in various endeavours.

“As you venture into the threshold of carving an important niche for yourselves, I enjoin you to be steadfast in your personal and group efforts towards the realisation of the noble objectives of the scheme please imbibe the spirit of hard work and remain faithful to the noble ideals of our founding fathers.

“The nation as a whole has been tormented by a lot of social ills that have eaten deep into the fabrics of our national life. Your predecessors in Kebbi State have contributed immensely to the development of the state in the areas of environmental sanitation, education and other key sectors of the economy. We expect you to build on their past sterling achievements and even surpass them by standing out in raising high the flag of unity in the land of equity.”

He added that the state was known for been peaceful state and their safety would be guarantee.

“Your safety here is well assured. Already, various security agencies in State have been directed to double their efforts towards giving maximum security to Corps Members. The State Government on its part will continue to do everything possible to see to your general welfare and wellbeing. We have put in place necessary measures to ensure that necessary motivation is given to our Corps Members serving in every nook and cranny of the State.”

Governor Idris who implored them to be responsible, discipline citizens of Nigeria, however donated the sum of N5million and three big bulls to the Corps members to augment their feeding in camp.

Earlier,the Kebbi State Coordinator of NYSC,Mrs. Agatha Okolo Banki thanked the state governor for attended the swearing in ceremony of the Corps members jointly deployed to Kebbi and Zamfara States

Banki also commended the Chief Judge of the state, who was represented by Hon justice Hassan Shehu Kuwa for performed the oath of allegiance and swore in the Batch of Corps Members.

She said: “Your Excellency Sir, at this point I want to thank you for supporting the NYSC Governing Board Chairman / Commissioner for Youth Development Mr. Nura Bala Fingila over the needs of the NYSC in the State as presented to you.

“Your Excellency, we look forward to your administration’s kind consideration and intervention Sir. To our host, Lamido Dakingari, Alh Jafaru Halliru, Local Government Chairmen here present, and all our collaborating agencies, your unmitigated support has no doubt contributed to the success of our Orientation Courses.

“My dear Corps Members, I urge you to uphold a high sense of discipline, tolerance, and proper understanding of the essence of the Orientation Course. I therefore challenge you to work towards distinguishing yourselves for Honours Awards right from the Camp, by actively contributing your quota to the success of the Orientation Course.”

She urged the Corps members to obey all Camp rules and regulations, respect Camp Officials and all constituted authorities.

“Furthermore, I urge you to relate freely with your colleagues to enable you benefit immensely from one another and establish lasting relationships.”
