Retired Director (Legal) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Ahmed Ibrahim, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) and urged party members and Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu, to turn around the declining economic fortunes of the country.

Ibrahim made the appeal during his official reception into the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter leadership of the party in Abuja.

He said: “I have no doubt that I am joining a good family with very eminent personalities and people who have contributed to the advancement of our dear and great country. You are all aware that to be in the midst of persons who have established their reputations and integrity is not an easy one. It is my desire and intention to work assiduously to ensure that all the programmes and activities of the APC are achieved.

“APC is a leading party in Nigeria and Africa at large. In this regard I crave your indulgence to support the party in all its policies and programmes. I am appealing to all members of this our great party to support the vision and policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in moving this country forward.

“He has done a lot in the areas of security, agriculture, education, health, youth development, human capital development and social investment.

The Renewed Hope Agenda is worth mentioning here, especially youth inclusion in politics and governance, stable polity, economic recovery and bilateral relations with other countries and also giving voice to the voiceless in Nigeria, especially in the areas of human rights, all inclusive appointments.”

While receiving Ibrahim, the APC Secretary Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMEC), Zakari Babale, said that the unity of the party’s members is critical to the development of FCT and the country generally.

Babale noted that the coming of Ibrahim who had never been into politics into the APC was very strategic, expressing optimism that the new entrants will help reposition and revive the party ahead of 2027 general election.

He further noted that though FCT APC had some challenges, it was not the reason for its members to grumble, but to join efforts with the President Bola Tinubu-led administration in building a better society for all.

He said: “The unity and commitment of the APC’s members in ensuring the implementation of Tinubu’s Renewal Hope Agenda is critical to the country’s development. When opposition political parties are doing everything to pull President Tinubu and the APC down through negative propaganda, members should remain committed to it. Party members must be united in projecting Federal Government’s policies and programmes in the interest of all.”
