The Niger Delta Ex-Agitators in the Phase 1 of the Federal Government amnesty programme have staged a protest in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, declaring support for President Bola Tinubu,  Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) and the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dennis Otuaro.

The ex-agitators, who were joined by some youth leaders, civil society groups, women organizations and community elders appreciated the current administration’s efforts in promoting peace, inclusiveness, and development in the Niger Delta region.

 

Addressing the demonstrators, leader of the group, Dennis Philip, commended President Tinubu for his visionary leadership and inclusive governance, especially his total commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region.

Philip noted that the President’s policies have reinforced peace and empowered indigenous leadership to take charge of regional transformation.

He particularly noted that the appointment of Otuaro, as the head of the Amnesty Programme has restored to the programme, describing it as a masterstroke that reflects the President’s confidence in grassroots-rooted leadership and genuine peacebuilding.

Also, Tarry Fayeofori, a prominent youth leader, who was part of the procession, said: “We have never had it this good. President Tinubu is not just governing from Abuja, his impact is felt in our towns and villages. His appointment of credible leaders like High Chief Dennis Burutu Otuaro PhD proves he values, integrity, capacity and the local insight needed to drive real change.”

A Community leader, Clarkson Ofubaraibim, acknowledged Tompolo’s tireless efforts through Tantita Security Services in securing critical government assets in the region, noting that his pivotal role in combating oil theft and safeguarding the national economy is topnotch.

He said: “Tompolo is no longer just a name from the struggle, he is now a symbol of peace, strategy, and responsibility. He is the bridge between the government and the people, and we stand with him in full solidarity.”

However, Prince Dennis, paid tribute to Otuaro for the transformative reforms he has introduced since assuming leadership of the Amnesty Programme.

Dennis called on all stakeholders, government agencies, communities leaders and the private sectors, to rally round Otuaro to preserve and expand the progress already achieved.

He emphasized the need for development in infrastructure, education, environmental clean-up, and entrepreneurial training, which are essential to building a peaceful and prosperous region.

Dennis stated: “Otuaro is doing exactly what this region needs,building human capital, restoring dignity, and offering real empowerment to our youth. His transparency, accountability, and people-driven approach have renewed our hope in the PAP.

“We are fully behind Tinubu, Tompolo, and Dennis Otuaro. Today, June 12, and in the days ahead, we stand firm in our loyalty, our resolve for peace, and our collective dedication to building a stronger Niger Delta and a greater Nigeria.”
