Football fans all over the world have been waiting for the October international break to conclude so they can enjoy Premier League play once more as exciting matches are lined up for the weekend.
Everyone is looking forward to Sunday’s showdown between Liverpool and Chelsea.
The match will also decide who tops the league for the weekend and also determine who drops points as the battle for the best team continues. There will also be other intriguing games before the Anfield showdown.
Daily Sun brings to you four other matches that are likely to produce shocking results this weekend.
- Tottenham vs West Ham
This weekend’s action begins at Tottenham Hotspur. Ange Postecoglou’s team lost 3-2 against Brighton after giving up a two-goal lead the last time out.
At full-time, the Australian manager was furious and wanted an immediate response from his players. They will face West Ham at home in the early kick-off on Saturday, who are regaining form and might offer a danger in this London Derby.
- Manchester United versus Brentford: Erik ten Hag always seemed to be one game away from getting dismissed. And, without a doubt, Brentford’s visit this weekend will be another challenge for United, who have only won twice at Old Trafford.
Thomas Frank’s men are also gaining a reputation for scoring quickly after kickoff. So the Red Devils must be extremely attentive.
- Wolves versus Manchester City: If Pep Guardiola’s side wins against Wolves before Liverpool plays Chelsea, they will go top of the standings.
But it won’t be as simple as it seems. Last season, City lost their first defeat of the season at Molineux. And, without Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri, the Wolves will try to duplicate that and begin their journey back from the basement.
- Bournemouth versus Arsenal: Arsenal will travel to Bournemouth for one of Saturday’s 3 pm kickoffs, looking to build on their strong start to the season.
Mikel Arteta’s players are notoriously difficult to crack away from home. However, the hosts are a dangerous team that might take advantage of Arsenal’s crucial player problems.
