Federal Pensioners under the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) have applauded President Bola Tinubu over the reappointment of Dr Chioma Nnena Ejikeme as Executive Secretary of the agency.

The ensioners believe that her reappointment is a confirmation of hard work, dedication and the numerous innovations introduced to address the plight of federal retirees all over the country.

In a statement in Abuja, signed by the National Public Relations Officer, the Federal Pensioners, Comrade Felix Ajoku, urged the newly appointed PTAD Executive Secretary to consolidate on her past successes and ensure all pension arrears are cleared.

“We wish to commend President Bola Tinubu for the reappointment of Dr Chioma Nnena Ejikeme as the Executive Secretary of PTAD for a second tenure.

“We believe that her appointment is a confirmation of hard work, dedication and the numerous innovations she had introduced to the PTAD.

“In the last tenure, she ensured the payment of backlog of arrears of pensioners under the civil service pension department arising from the output of the national verification of 2015-2017.

Comrade Ajoku further enumerated other successes achieved by Dr Ejikeme as the full liquidation of pension liabilities of the defunct agencies like the new Nigerian Newspapers, NICON Insurance, Nitel/Mtel, Delta Steel Company among others.

Also in a remark, a national leader of the Federal Pensioners, Comrade Danladi Mark Gogo, said the reappointment of Dr Ejikeme is the best thing that has happened to the Nigerian pensioners under PTAD.

According to Gogo and many other pensioners who added their voices, affirmed that the reappointment has further rekindled hope in the federal retirees as he urged all pensioners to join hands to support her.

They said: “Pensioners under PTAD should as a matter of importance, render their unflinching support to the new PTAD chief executive to perform better.

“Dr Ejikeme has been very friendly, empathetic and humane in the manner she was able to resolve the many problems inherited by PTAD from inception. We are confident, she will consolidate on her previous gains at the completion of her tenure.”
