In the bustling creative scene of Nigeria, there is a growing need for platforms that nurture emerging talents and give young people the tools to thrive. At the forefront of this mission is Alex Osabohien, an entrepreneur who believes that building a successful media company also means building up the people who will shape the industry’s future.
As the founder and CEO of Lexicon Media, established in 2016 and headquartered in Gudu, Abuja, Alex has overseen the company’s steady growth in digital marketing, media production, branding, public relations, and communications. Yet, behind the business achievements lies a deeper commitment—to empower aspiring creatives and bridge the gap between raw talent and real opportunity, ensuring a stronger future for the Nigerian media landscape.
“For me, media has always been about connection,” Alex shares. “But beyond connecting brands with their audiences, I want to connect young creatives with the opportunities they need to succeed.”
Growing up in Edo State, Alex experienced firsthand the challenges that come with limited access to resources and mentorship. Those early struggles have fueled his passion for giving back. Through Lexicon Media’s various initiatives, he partners with nonprofit organizations and education-focused programs to provide training, mentorship, and hands-on experience for young people interested in media and communications.
“We’ve seen so many bright minds with incredible ideas but no platform to express them,” Alex says.
“My goal is to change that by offering skills development and real-world exposure.”
These initiatives include workshops, internships, and collaborative projects that allow budding talents to learn directly from professionals and gain practical experience. From video production and content creation to digital marketing and storytelling, participants are equipped with tools that prepare them for successful careers in the creative industry and beyond.
But Alex’s impact goes beyond just skill-building.
He is also passionate about fostering confidence and ambition in young people. By creating an environment where creativity is encouraged and supported, he hopes to inspire the next wave of Nigerian storytellers who will shape narratives both locally and globally.
“As a company, we are focused on growth, but that growth means nothing if we aren’t lifting others as we climb,” Alex explains. “I see every training session, every mentorship moment as an investment in the future of this industry.”
Looking ahead, Alex envisions expanding these empowerment efforts beyond Nigeria’s borders, collaborating with creatives across Africa and internationally. His mission is to create a network of storytellers who can share their perspectives with the world and elevate African narratives on the global stage.
Through his leadership at Lexicon Media and his dedication to empowering young creatives, Alex Osabohien is proving that the future of Nigeria’s media industry is not only about innovation and technology, it is about people and purpose.
