The Emmanuel Alamu Networking Academy (TEANA) foundation recently equipped the youths in Lagos with in-demand ICT skills. The initiative, which is part of the foundation’s objective to reduce poverty and create innovation and infrastructure which are a part of The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) took place between 28th – 30th of September, 2023.

The founder, Emmanuel Alamu noted that over the years, the poverty rate has been on a rise in Africa, most especially in Nigeria and a swift intervention is needed to reduce these statistics to the barest minimum and this can be achieved by equipping the youths with ICT knowledge which in turn will sharpen their innovative mind and create wealth.

 

The event which was tagged “How to Unlock Financial Exploits Using Digital Competence” saw attendees from different aspects of Lagos State.

 

According to Emmanuel, “global economy is undergoing a swift digital transformation and Nigeria stands at the fore-front of reaping the benefits of a digital economy”.

He emphasized that the training would equip young people with the In-demand ICT skills needed to thrive in a digital economy and also ensure that there is proper mentorship after the workshop to ensure that they have the requisite hands-on experience and gain practical knowledge to become highly sought by employers.

 

“The training will boost employment outcomes, improve work readiness and enhance them with the qualities, capacities and resourcefulness required by employers home and abroad”, he said.

 

Certificate of merit was presented to attendees who proved their understanding of the skills taught after careful assessment was carried out  by the facilitators.

 

TEANA Foundation has trained and certified over 100 ICT professionals since it was founded few years ago.
