The 15th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi 11 has accused the supporters of his rival. Aminu Ado Bayero of invading and vandalising valuables in his palace.
A statement signed by Sadam Yakasai for Sanusi’s emirate palace media crew, said the attack was effected on Sunday, while the monarch (Sanusi) was out of his palace.
Yakasai in the statement alleged that, “They broke the gate and attacked the guards, injuring some of them.They smashed the police vehicles in the palace”
“Aminu deliberately passed through the emir’s palace road instead of taking the proper route from Koki to Nassarawa, and his hoodlums decided to attack Gidan Rumfa” he further alleged.
“This is not the first time he has passed through the area. He had done that previously after he visited his Mandawari residence. He did that to intimidate the people of the area,” he alleged.
In the meantime, the police in Kano has confirmed a clash, disclosing that four suspects had been arrested.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Abdullahi Haruna, acknowledged that they have commenced investigation into the matter.
According to him, Commissioner Ibrahim Bakori had set up a panel to investigate the altercation that happened between supporters of the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero and the 16th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sañusi.
