In Ebonyi, the Action People’s Party (APP) described the postponement as a betrayal of hope.

State Chairman of the party, Chinedum Elekwachi said for a new party struggling to survive, the shift in date when all logistical arrangements and mobilisation had been made, was a major blow to them.

“This change of date five hours to election is a betrayal of hope and a slap to an institution such as an INEC. As a political party sponsoring candidates for the election, we are compelled by this development to scratch our teeth to survive which is a face democracy should not parade at any time.

“In these troubling times, we charge all our members and supporters to remain resolute till the final whistle is blown. The Independent National Electoral Commission is therefore mandated to see that our managing sustained fate is not rubbished completely as we reshuffle for February 23.

“Our great Party, Action People’s Party (APP) in her character will remain law abiding and will at all time cooperate with INEC and other assisting agencies in ensuring an acceptable electoral process. Let the right be done,” Elekwachi said.
