The governorship aspirant for the 2026 election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Dr Wole Oluyede, has felicitated Muslims in Ekiti and Nigeria on the celebration of this year’s Eid al-Fitr.
The celebration marks the conclusion of the Ramadan fast, as dictated by Islamic tenets to all Muslims.
Oluyede, who commended the Muslim Ummah for praying for the state and country during the period, urged them to uphold all the teachings learnt during the fasting period.
The guber aspirant, in his congratulatory message through his spokesperson, Gani Salau, and provided to newsmen on Sunday, charged the Muslim faithful to continue to sustain the lessons learnt during the holy month.
“I rejoice with all Muslims in Ekiti State and beyond for the completion of the Ramadan fast and urge you to uphold and sustain the teachings learnt during the period.
“The spirit of oneness, love, kindness, sharing, and giving to people, especially to the less privileged, should continue as learnt during the Ramadan fast.
“I beseech all of you to be dedicated and live with one another in harmony, peace, and joy as you celebrate the conclusion of this year’s Ramadan.”
Oluyede used the occasion to appeal to Muslims to pray for the success of the 2026 gubernatorial election and for God to enthrone a person after His heart as the next governor of the state. “As you gather together this morning to jointly pray to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan, I charge you to pray for the success of the 2026 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State so that a person of God’s heart will emerge as the next Governor of our dear state.”
The PDP chieftain charged the various security agencies to ensure adequate security of lives and property of the people of Ekiti State in the course of the festive period and beyond.
