In the wake of the brutal killing of over 200 innocent citizens in Benue State, Ambassador Eka A’adu Dickson, popularly known as Ekason and Chairman of the Ekason Group, has strongly condemned the violence, describing it as a tragic affront to humanity, peace, and the sanctity of life.

Addressing the media in Makurdi, Ekason expressed deep sorrow over the killings and called for a collective response to end the cycle of bloodshed.

“The murder of over 200 people is a tragedy too heavy for any community to bear,” he said. “We must never normalize this kind of horror. I condemn it entirely. This is not who we are.”

Calling for swift action from security agencies, he urged governments at all levels, traditional leaders, civil society, and international stakeholders to unite in the defense of life and dignity.

In a powerful gesture of resilience and vision, Ekason announced the development of Ekason Signature, a world-class entertainment and lifestyle hub currently under construction in Makurdi. The center, strategically located opposite the Aminu Isa Kontagora Arts Theatre, is designed to foster healing, youth empowerment, and socio-economic transformation.

“Even in the face of sorrow, we must build,” Ekason declared. “Ekason Signature is more than a business—it’s a response to pain. A safe space where our people, especially the youth, can find joy, express creativity, and rediscover hope.”

The upcoming facility will include:

A modern events arena

A children’s play and leisure park

Ekason emphasized that the center is envisioned not just for recreation but as a catalyst for economic empowerment and emotional renewal. “It’s about rebuilding lives, not just spaces,” he said.

He also commended the administration of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, praising the Governor’s efforts in security, governance, and economic reform. “Governor Alia is laying the groundwork for a new Benue. As citizens and investors, we must rise to complement his leadership with action.”

The project is expected to generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs, creating opportunities in hospitality, logistics, event management, tourism, and security.

Ekason concluded with a heartfelt dedication of the project to the victims of the recent killings:

“We are building Ekason Signature in memory of those we lost—so that their lives will inspire something lasting. A center of peace. A future of purpose. Benue shall rise again.”

The grand opening of Ekason Signature is anticipated to be a landmark event—celebrating not only culture and innovation but also symbolizing the enduring strength of a people determined to thrive in spite of adversity.
