Former President Goodluck Jonathan has urged Nigerians to deepen the bonds of brotherhood and promote mutual respect.

Jonathan made the call in an Eid-el-Kabir message shared on Facebook on Friday.

According to him, the nation’s strength lies in its rich diversity and shared commitment to peace and unity.

Jonathan congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, urging them to imbibe the virtues of faith, sacrifice and devotion associated with the day.

He said, “On this blessed occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations to our muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria and around the world.  

“This significant day serves as a profound reminder of the virtues of faith, sacrifice, devotion, and generosity which are values that resonate deeply across all humanity. 

“In Nigeria, our strength lies in our rich diversity and shared commitment to peace and unity. Let us use this moment to deepen the bonds of brotherhood, promote mutual respect, and work towards overcoming our challenges and recommit to building a future of lasting peace, progress, and shared prosperity.
