From Olanrewaju Lawal, Birnin Kebbi
The Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris, has requested the people of the state to remain steadfast in prayers and support for his administration’s commitment to sustainable socio-economic development of the state, as he rejoices with Nigeria’s Muslims on the Eid el-Kabir Sallah celebration.
In a message signed by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Abdullahi Idris Sadaukin Zuru, the Governor attributed the modest achievements recorded by his administration in the last two years to the people’s consistent prayers, sincere loyalty, support, and confidence in his administration.
According to him: “Comrade Idris observed that although the challenges of development are enormous in view of many competing demands, the prayers for Allah’s guidance and the unflinching support for his developmental programmes have further strengthened his capacity and political will to overcome them and achieve remarkable successes in all sectors of development.”
Idris assured that in the next two years of the first mandate, the All Progressives Congress (APC)-controlled state government will continue to prioritise the critical sectors of education, agriculture, healthcare delivery, infrastructure, and effective implementation of different economic empowerment support programmes.
“As we joyfully celebrate the Eid el-Kabir Sallah celebration, Comrade Nasir Kauran Gwandu reminded faithful to put into practice the religious teachings of the period and remain committed to building a prosperous Kebbi State through sustainable support for the government’s developmental programmes aimed at building a brighter future for our next generation,” he said.
The Governor therefore requested the people of the state, regardless of political, religious, or ethnic affiliation, to join him in his determination to ensure adequate security for peaceful coexistence and sustainable socio-economic development of the state.
While wishing the people of the state a happy and memorable Sallah celebration, Comrade Nasir Idris reminded the people of the need to genuinely support the implementation of the government’s developmental programmes aimed at building a brighter future for our next generation and generations yet unborn.
