A group, 2027 Is Possible, yesterday, said that they have resolved to mobilize two million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027 re-election bid, to consolidate on his Renewed Hope Agenda.
The group who went through the major streets of Benin City in a solidarity march with branded fez caps with inscriptions “2027, it is possible” said though 2027 is far but the preparation must beginning right now.
Addressing Journalists during the rally, the convener of the rally, Comrade Kelly Okungbowa, said he was motivated to organize the rally because of what the Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo is doing in the state.
He said it would not have been possible if president Bola Tinubu has not released to him fund that is due to the state.
Comrade Okungbowa said that, the state governor has embarked on massive road projects including the flyover bridge, a feat that has never been recorded in the state before now.
Okungbowa said for such development to continue in the state, the presidency has to be encouraged to seek a re-election.
“And as you are seeing all of us here, it’s not just about APC. It’s across political line. It’s across All party lines. All the youth that you are seeing here today, we are from different political parties.
“We have come together to give our support to the president and to the state governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
“You can recall that two days ago, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo has just awarded the second fly over in Edo State.
“And he has mobilized The contractor with 25 percent and this is what we have not experienced in this state before now. A man who has embarked on infrastructure in barely six months in office, I mean this is the second fly over. This is what we have never witnessed in Edo before.
“And for what they have said, it is through the help of Mr. President. It is because of the money Mr. President is releasing to the state governor. That is why he’s able to carry out all these infrastructure.
” So, we have no option as youths than to rally our support for Mr. President and Senator Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State.
“I want to reassure the Nigerians and the Edo people that come 2027, we will not give below two million votes to Mr. President”, Okungbowa said.
For the Senior Special Assistant on Pipeline Surveillance to the Edo State governor, Comrade Joseph Okonigene, he said there are numerous projects going on across the country and that for president Tinubu to complete them, governors across the states must queue behind him adding that, that is why the Edo State governor has decided to always support him.
He said because the Edo State governor has already made up his mind to support president Tinubu to actualize his goals and objectives, the youths have no choice than to support both president Tinubu and Senator Monday Okpebholo to succeed.
“And so, there are so many projects that are ongoing in Nigeria which the president is doing. And we the youth of Edo State and those in the South South region, we are behind our leader, the governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo to support Tinubu and deliver the two million votes the convener has just said.
“I believe with this support, he can achieve his goal”, Okonigene said.
