A governorship aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Felix Ehiguese Akhabue, has received royal blessings from the traditional rulers of Esanland to actualise his political ambition.

Speaking, at the palace of the Onojie of Ekpoma Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Anthony Abumere II, the governorship hopeful said his visit is to get their blessings and support for his aspiration to contest the 2024 governorship election.

He said that the royal fathers play pivotal role in the security of lives, peace, progress and development of the land and people in every community and kingdom.

Akhabue said that he has to make the visit a must because he is sure of their blessings to pull through and that he believes firmly on the saying that “charity begins at home”, and so, he has come to inform his fathers of his desire to take over the mantle of leadership as governor of the state, come 2024.

Akhabue said when elected, he would do everything possible to revolutionise all the sectors of the state to enhance the people’s standard of living in the state, especially those at the rural areas.

He also promises to put an end to rural-urban migration by opening up access roads in the various communities in the state, and providing other social amenities in the rural areas and cities when elected.

He said he is aware of the challenges bedevilling the state ranging from infrastructure, education, access roads adding that he will address them holistically.

Speaking on behalf of the Enigie of Esanland, the Onojie of Uromi, HRM, Zaiki Anselm Eidenojie II extolled the leadership quality and moral upbringing of the aspirant.

He advised him to carry on his campaigns with decorum and respect for the electioneering processes throughout the period.
