A Christian Organisation, Gbenga Samuel-Wemimo Ministries International (GSWMI), Friday, said it had met the welfare needs of over 5,000 less-privileged persons since it started operations in 2020.
The Head of the ministry, Pastor Gbenga Samuel-Wemimo, who made this known in an interview with Sunday Sun in Lagos, said that this was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
He revealed that the ministry started its CSR activities on April 12, 2020, at the heat of the COVID-19 lockdown with the mission to spread the love of Christ by meeting people’s welfare needs.
According to him, since its inception, the GSWMI-CSR has spread throughout Canada, U.S., United Kingdom, France, Ghana, Dubai, and multiple locations in Nigeria.
With the vision to bring the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and all its benefits to every believer and the world at large, GSWMI helmsman said: “We have put in efforts to provide medical and educational aid among others to the less-privileged.
“We conscientiously look for indigent people in the society. Our hospital ministry ministers to the needs of the sick and needy, both physically and spiritually.
“We pray for the sick, and clear their medical bills to avoid depression because of non-payment of bills. We also have a scholarship scheme that caters for the school fees of indigent pupils and students from primary school to the University. Currently, we have students in Ghana, Nigeria, and other countries benefiting from this scheme”
Samuel-Wemimo disclosed that GSWMI had a ministry for indigent widows in which a stipend was being paid every month and lump sum capital for those willing to set up their own businesses.
Similarly, the head of GSWMI-CSR team, Dr Ololade Akinrinlola, told opened up on the funding of GSWMI-CSR, saying “we are funded by donations from members and partners. We aimed to reach the entire world, as we already hit twenty states in Nigeria.
“We only go to places where we believe our help and intervention are required. We provide free meals, foodstuffs, provisions, clothes, shoes, mattresses, television, mosquito nets, ceiling fans, payTV subscription, medications and other needed items and share the gospel, and we have seen lives being blessed tremendously,” Akinrinlola said.
She added that the group would not fail in its mandate in bridging the hunger and lack gaps in the society and bless orphanages, homeless, and widows as the Lord helps us.
“Our hospital ministry was set up to replicate the work of Christ by healing the sick, breaking the yoke of sicknesses in the lives of people and drawing them to Christ.
“Our vision is to Bless the less-privileged with food and gifts, thereby demonstrating the love of Christ and sharing the good news with them”
More so, the director, GSWMI Scholarship Scheme, Mr Tai Folarin, said that in the span of three financial years, it had awarded over a hundred scholarships to the have -not.
“GSWMI Scholarship Scheme was committed to helping students achieve their educational dreams. We want our youths and children to go to school. Though, the primary aim of believers is to bring others into the light and knowledge of Christ, however education is important to really magnify that space.
Tai Folarin affirmed that its dedicated partners are not giving up in meeting the needs of some students adopted. “Our funding is especially through partnerships. Some partners selflessly donate monthly as inspired by God.
“To apply for our scholarships, students should simply send an application to us, we will assess its veracity and decide to award it or not,” Folarin said.
