Nigerians have been advised to desist from continually criticizing their leaders but to pray for them to enable them provide the much desired quality leadership.
Founder, Faith Women Fellowship Evang. Lydia Idoko, gave this advice while speaking with newsmen after a one day prayer session with the theme, “The Help of God for Notable Breakthrough” held at the Church on Monday evening.
The woman of God who noted that Christians are supposed to be the salt of the earth and light of the World expressed regret that the reverse is the case as character assassination has has been the order of the day among Christians.
Evang. Idoko who noted that leadership is burdensome, urged Nigerians, especially Christians, to pray for their leaders for good governance as criticism would not solve anything.
The woman of God also admonished citizens not to be despondent over the present situation confronting the nation but be optimistic for a better country.
She urged Nigerians to be patient and be hopeful for better days ahead saying, “We should have hope. Hope will give us an assurance that the future is colourful and bright. There will always be light at the end of the tunnel. We should not look at the economy but look up to God. We should not look at our ability but what God can do for us.
“Once we do not marry our lives to earthly economy, we will not have any cause to panic. Yes life is uncertain, you wake every morning, you see different things but the only way to build your life is through your faith in God. People should not look at the economy but what they can do to develop themselves even if you are a street sweeper, do it the best you can so that you can be attracted; and people will patronize you because you are do it with sincerity and in truth.
“Let us shun anything that make us to make it quick because that is the Satan’s way. So let us pray for the country and not to criticize our leaders.
“Leadership is difficult even in our homes, we know how difficult it is to manage our children, let alone one man leading a whole nation. Let us pray for Nigeria and hope for the better and I believe strongly that in a twinkle of an eye, God can turn things around for good.”
She explained that the programme was aimed at sensitizing the people to go back to practical Christianity and not live like unbelievers. She urged the people to work on their personality, character and integrity so as to achieve a legacy of good names.
