National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sly Ezeokenwa, has appealed to members of the party in Ebonyi State to bury the hatchets and join hands with Emmanuel Nwankwo-led state executive to build a united and formidable party.
Ezeokenwa, who made this known in Abakaliki during his first official visit, yesterday, to the Ebonyi State chapter of the party, made it clear that he has no intention whatsoever to tinker with the existing state’s leadership structure as there was no reason for him to do that.
He, however, charged Nwankwo to brace up and build a united and strong APGA in Ebonyi State through inclusive leadership.
He said: “Under my leadership, APGA, as a truly progressive party, will live the reality of our motto: ‘Be your brother’s keeper’. Working with all state executives and members of our great party, we are going to build a very strong and united political party that will be ideally progressive.”
The national chairman thanked the party’s stakeholders and members for the reception given to him in Ebonyi. He also thanked Nwankwo, the Secretary, Eistern Ogbonnaya, APGA Youth Leader, Sam Mgbada, the Odometer state coordinator for the 2023 Odohzia campaign council, members of the State Working Committee and members of the State Executive Committee.Ezeokenwa, who chronicled the history and the reasons for the formation of APGA in 2002, told the party faithful that under his watch as APGA national chairman, every member of the party will be given fair treatment and attention whether as an executive member or not.
He said the Ebonyi State has been highly favoured being the first state chapter he will pay a visit as the national chairman. He, therefore, charged all party members not to underrate such God’s favour.
While responding to the request of one of the stakeholders and active women mobilizer, Beatrice Nkwuda, for a training and orientation programme for all the leadership of the party at various levels in the state, he promised to liaise with the South East national vice chairman for the party’s leadership to organise orientation training for the leaders across board in Ebonyi State and beyond.
He also reaffirmed his confidence on the leadership of Nwankwo as the only chairman of the party in the state who has demonstrated enormous leadership capacity capable of taking the party to greater heights in the near future.
He further announced that the party will soon commence a digital online membership registration, adding that one of his brain child programme for APGA, called ‘The APGA foundation’ for the less-privileged in Nigeria.
